Daycare

Great River School's daycare is dedicated to providing a nurturing environment for small children up to 4 years old. In our home-like daycare room we maintain a small group staffed by a loving teacher and assistant. Children's sense of well-being blossoms in the presence of adults who truly enjoy being with them and we believe that building a secure bond with a caring adult is a key element for healthy development.
Great River School's daycare is childcare that is suited to the child's needs with outdoor play, natural food, stories, baking, painting and singing all in a warm, creative setting furnished with open-ended, natural materials and toys.


Children's play is their work and the way they learn about life and its many struggles such as sharing, taking risks and resolving conflicts. We create a space for plenty of free-play both inside and outside.
Supporting the life of the daycare are our daily, weekly and seasonal rhythms. These offer security and build confidence for exploration and creativity.
We are committed to building a dynamic early childhood program where children will be nourished and supported in their growth during their important first years.
