The Parent and Child program brings together young children aged 18 months to three and their parent(s) under the care and guidance of an experienced Waldorf preschool teacher. In a warm social environment, children explore and play with the security and comfort of a trusted adult nearby.

The adults welcome the opportunity to socialize with other parents of young children as they gather round the table to create a small toy or seasonal craft using natural materials. After tidying up the room, we come together to sing, recite finger rhymes and play ring games. Following a warm organic snack, we snuggle on the carpet with our story babies to enjoy a story played out with handmade puppets on a silk cloth. Outside play and a goodbye song round off the morning.

ParentNChild Room Each week, the children engage more fully in their interactions with one another, in their play, in their participation into the circle, and in their attentiveness to the story. Parents and teacher benefit from each other's company and explore various parenting concerns be it child development, establishing boundaries or creating bedtime or mealtime routines.

Sessions are continuous throughout the year. New families are welcome at any time, space permitting. Space is limited to ten families per class.
